I've stated in a previous post that I would like nothing more than to be close chums with Sir Richard Branson. I often refer to him as Richie in my head, I'm sure he'd gladly answer to it once we're best pals, It sure beats Branson pickle. My (future) great's latest spark of brilliance and innovation comes in the form of a free Apple app (for the iPad and iPhone.)
Virgin Atlantic's free guide to London features itineraries from the airline's crew and select London celebrities, including designer Alice Temperley and polo captain Luke Tomlinson. The app is filled with the capital city's best kept secretes, places to eat, party and wind down.
The app launched just in time for the opening of the olympic games and is a great guide for first time visitors. But I reckon it'll be an even better for fans (and future friends) of Sir Richard Branson as it his top five London Loves will be included in the app.
Why, yes Virgin Atlantic London City Guide app, I have been wondering which places would present the best opportunity for me to run into Rinchie...

On the parts of London that inspire him: "I love Notting Hill and Westbourne Grove – there is so much life and vitality around Portobello and Ladbroke Grove. It has come up a lot since I started Virgin more than 40 years ago but there is so much character."

On indulging when he's in the city: "We love to have a big family meal at nice restaurants such as Assaggi in Westbourne Grove. Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen is also excellent."
The London Eye image source
His favourite London monument: "It has to be the London Eye, because it reminds me of the time we played a brilliant joke on its sponsor BA. They were having trouble erecting it, so we flew an airship over the Eye bearing the slogan ‘BA Can’t Get It Up!!’"

Something the Corporate Climber might appreciate is Sir Richard Beranson's favourite place to have power lunches: "I am biased but I love Babylon at Kensington Roof Gardens. Great food and great views. Recently had breakfast at the Langham too, beautiful dining room."
Ladbroke Arms image source
His favourite place to have a bit of a dop: "The pubs around our old offices such as Ladbroke Arms and The Windsor Castle are great. As is the new St. Pancras Hotel, it’s a really impressive space."
You can get the app for free on iTunes. My next trip to London is going to be just like a road trip with my (future) good friend Branson.
