Don’t fancy yourself much of a gym-bunny? Well you may need to give it a serious rethink after you hear about a new class offered by a UK-based gym, the David Lloyd Club.
The organizers call it “Nap-Ercise” and claim that the class will “reinvigorate the mind, improve moods, and even burn the odd calorie.” The club has targeted parents of young children who are likely getting less than the minimum sleep requirement of 7,5 hours per day. The class consists of 15 minutes of light stretching followed by a 45-minute nap on a plush double bed.
The health benefits of napping are well acknowledged and include:
• Improved mood
• Increased alertness
• Fewer mistakes and accidents
• Better logic and memory
• Decreased sleepiness
• Faster task completion
